Shawe Hall Prescool Playgroup.

At Shawe Hall Pre School Playgroup, we are focused on providing your little ones with quality care and understanding. We work within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and have set key groups to observe and plan activities to suit your child's educational needs. We have a wonderful large outdoor space available to use all session that is mainly safety tarmacked, with a paved sheltered area outside too so we can play out in any weather! The area we use comprises of a large open hall area, bathroom, large outdoor area with added sheltered area. Staff have kitchen and storage access.

There is parking to the front and rear of the centre and disabled parking at the front, as well as a small grass verge allowing around it to have in and out flowing access. There is a ramped wheelchair and pushchair access to the front of the building with the front door having a double feature to allow wider access. A family toilet is always available and the children have their own three toilets and sink area with pigeon holes for their bags, wellies, coats and fantastic art work.

A hearing aid loop/cable is available also.

We work along side SENAS (Special educational Needs Advisory Service) to enhance the care we give to children who require extra educational needs, we are trained in PECS and liaise with outer agencies to offer the best care and educational support for children with Special Educational Needs. We understand the importance of support for families and welcome speech therapists and child psychologists into our setting to enhance our care and understanding of the children's different needs.

We are trained in WellComm screening and will assess your little one upon entry and use the information to help your child get the best quality support with speech and understanding at a level that suits them.

We access 'Tapestry' an online learning journal that is unique to your child. Each key group leader will preform observations and assessments, take photographs and complete reports - all available at any time for parents to read, look at and comment on at their leisure.

We have access to translators via Trafford Sure Start and this has proved a valuable find for children and families with English as a second language.

We introduce fun with Jolly Phonics. This is a fabulous way to introduce sounds, listening skills, rhyming worlds, alliteration and fun with words

Do not worry if your little one is not potty trained as we can help with this. We have potties that are available at all times and changing facilities to change nappies.

We welcome students and volunteers after a successful DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service). We follow policies for students and volunteers prior to accepting.

The safety of the children whilst in our care is paramount. The building is secured and the door is manned by staff at the start and finishing times. All staff hold a current DBS check and have been through our application check/interview/references before starting work with us. Staff hold 1st Aid and Child Protection and Safeguarding also food hygiene certificates.
